There’s something for everyone at New Milton’s Be Involved festival on 16/17 September: the kids, the grown-ups, grandparents – even the dog. And it’s absolutely free to be involved.
A weekend of performances, displays and have-a-go opportunities, on the Recreation Ground and in the Memorial Centre, will be promoting the wide choice of community activities available in the New Milton area; with street food, refreshments and a bar on hand throughout the weekend. From 11-4pm, with different activities featuring on each day, including an Information Fair on Saturday and a Free Health Check on Sunday. More events are planned at local venues in the week before and after.
Whether your interest is in getting fitter, learning a new skill, finding an outlet for your creativity, making a difference in the community or just getting out to meet some new people – this is your chance to find out what’s out there waiting for you.
The Forest Arts Centre, Memorial Centre, New Milton Health & Leisure, Community Centre, Adult Learning and Skills Centre are all involved, as well as various Sports and Social clubs. There’ll be a host of demonstrations including dancing, martial arts, musical performances, workshops, and exercise classes from seated to boot camp! Storytime and face painting for the kids and Good Citizen training for the dog.
As we get nearer to the event, and as yet more community activity groups get involved, you can keep up to date or make sure your own group is involved at www.beinvolved.org.uk.
